My name is Georgina and I’m with the building called the Lincoln in White Rock, British Columbia. We had the original wired system that came with the building when it was built in 1971. It was a very old wall-mounted unit. You were able to talk, listen and let people in, but it was dated. We didn’t always know who was coming in and out, and if you were away from your unit you couldn’t let somebody into the building.
The old system was very limited. With parcel deliveries from UPS and Amazon, if you were at work you needed a neighbour to open the door. We wanted a system where you could see who was at the door, which also adds security for the building.
We’ve been using the new system for approximately three years. You can be anywhere in the world, receive a parcel, unlock the door and see who is there. The transition has been relatively easy. Residents can use their phone, facial recognition, a fob or a key, so people can choose the option they are comfortable with.
Our experience with WeTech Security has been fantastic. When we have a question or concern, a phone call or email is answered right away. I would recommend the upgrade to another strata and have already mentioned it to a building that was considering an intercom upgrade.
