Security FAQ · Planning

What happens during a building security site assessment?

We review the property’s entrances, existing equipment, wiring, user groups and management requirements. We also discuss what is working, what is failing and what residents or staff need from the upgrade. The result is a practical set of options, important limitations and a clearer scope for proposal and budgeting.

Practical guidance

What this means for your property

A building security assessment reviews the complete path from a visitor or resident arriving to the correct entrance opening. WeTech checks existing intercoms, readers, door hardware, wiring, power, cameras, gates and relevant elevator interfaces, then discusses daily use with the property’s contact.

The assessment also identifies administrator access, equipment that may be reusable and dependencies on other trades or the building’s network. Bring recent fault examples and explain what residents or staff find difficult. The resulting scope should distinguish what can stay, what needs further testing and what should change, so the proposal describes an installation the property can actually operate and maintain.

What to confirm before proceeding

01

Prepare existing information

Have model numbers, available drawings, previous service records and the authorized building contact ready.

02

Show the whole route

Walk through visitor, resident, staff and delivery access, including gates or elevators that form part of those routes.

03

Agree the next step

Confirm outstanding tests, responsibilities and information needed before the final proposal can be completed.
