The starting point
The occupied 120-unit multi-residential community had a legacy entrance intercom and needed coordinated modernization across pedestrian doors, vehicle gates and elevator access.

What WeTech installed
The security upgrade
WeTech installed two Akuvox video intercoms, access control across 23 doors, two gate controls and two elevator controls. Authorized Hawthorne users can also use WeTech-configured iPhone Shortcuts for selected building access points.

The operating outcome
Visitors can use modern video calling, while residents and management have a coordinated system linking entrances, interior doors, gates and elevator access through managed credential and mobile-access workflows.

At Hawthorne’s 8915 202 Street entrance, WeTech replaced the older oversized entry panel with an Akuvox S539 video intercom on a custom stainless-steel retrofit plate. The finished installation fits cleanly into the original stone surround and retains the accessible push-to-open station below.

These original Hawthorne images document door-specific iPhone Shortcuts and a weather-protected exterior video intercom. Together they support the wider integrated upgrade across two intercoms, 23 controlled doors, two gate controls and two elevator controls at the 120-unit Langley community.
WeTech-configured shortcuts organize selected access points—including parkade-to-elevator routes, interior gates, stairwells, elevator access and the bike room—inside one Hawthorne Access folder.
A stainless-steel retrofit plate and overhead metal hood protect the exterior video intercom while providing visitor calling at an outdoor entrance.
