Walk the complete route in daylight, after dark and, where practical, during a busy entry period: street, vehicle credential, gate, ramp, parking levels, storage and bicycle areas, pedestrian door, elevator or stairs, building interior and exit route.

Review the gate and tailgating window

A UHF tag, remote or licence plate can authenticate a vehicle credential. It does not prove that only one vehicle passed through the opening.

  • Whether UHF reads only the intended lane and approach
  • Whether each remote or tag has a unique managed record
  • How long the opening remains available
  • How a second vehicle could follow
  • Visibility for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists

Trace every pedestrian route into the building

Follow paths from a stall to elevator lobbies, stairwells, storage lockers, bicycle rooms, loading areas and exterior exits. Confirm doors close and latch, credentials reach only intended areas and mechanical override functions are documented.

Where configured, door-held and door-forced events should reach someone authorized to respond. Do not change egress, fire, elevator or gate-safety behaviour based only on a security recommendation.

Audit credentials and administration

Document power, internet and emergency behaviour

Will a normal CCTV camera read every licence plate?+

No. Reliable plate capture is a separate design task involving distance, angle, speed, shutter, infrared exposure and night testing.
