Security FAQ · Access control

Can residents use an iPhone or Apple Watch for building access?

Yes, when the selected access-control reader and platform support compatible mobile-wallet credentials. An iPhone or Apple Watch can then be presented at the reader instead of a physical fob. Fobs and other approved credentials can remain available for residents who prefer them.

Practical guidance

What this means for your property

An iPhone or Apple Watch can act as a building credential when the property’s reader and access platform support a compatible mobile-wallet implementation and the credential has been properly issued. That is different from opening a door through an app or a configured iPhone Shortcut.

It is also different from copying an arbitrary existing fob into Apple Wallet; Wallet is not a generic fob-cloning tool. Before choosing this option, confirm the exact platform, supported devices, enrollment process and any required service arrangement. WeTech can assess the selected equipment and demonstrate the agreed access method while keeping an approved physical credential available for residents who prefer it.
