Before the upgrade

The starting point

Residents relied on a conventional Mircom entrance intercom and existing gate remotes, with no modern visitor video or mobile entrance control.

What WeTech installed

The security upgrade

WeTech replaced the legacy panel with an Akuvox video intercom, connected the gate-control workflow and configured SmartPlus with Siri access while keeping the previous gate remotes usable. As a complimentary value-add, WeTech also created a two-bedroom rental-availability message for the entrance display.

After the upgrade

The operating outcome

Residents gained video visitor calling and convenient mobile access without losing their familiar remotes, while property management gained an additional building-branded touchpoint for communicating rental availability to visitors.

At the Thurston Apartments entrance in Chilliwack, WeTech removed the older keypad-based Mircom intercom and installed an Akuvox video intercom on a clean stainless-steel retrofit plate. The new installation adds visitor video, touchscreen calling and mobile access while fitting professionally against the existing brick exterior.

The Akuvox touchscreen can support approved, building-specific visuals in addition to its intercom functions. At Thurston Apartments, WeTech provided a complimentary two-bedroom rental-availability display as part of the completed entrance upgrade.

WeTech configured the entrance screen to promote an available rental unit to visitors while the same Akuvox device continues to support secure video entry. The leasing phone number has been intentionally blurred for privacy.
