ShellySir Philip customer testimonial

Shelly, a council member at Sir Philip in White Rock, describes replacing the building’s original audio intercom with video calling and flexible access. Residents can see visitors, answer and unlock while away, choose facial recognition, Bluetooth, fobs or retained keys, open the underground garage from a phone and keep landline calling where needed. After more than a year, she says resident management has been smooth and recommends WeTech to other strata communities considering an upgrade.

01Can an old audio intercom be upgraded to video?+

Yes, many older audio intercoms can be replaced with modern video intercom systems. The final approach depends on the existing wiring, entrance hardware, calling requirements and building layout. WeTech first inspects the current system to determine which infrastructure can remain and what needs to be replaced.

02Can existing intercom wiring be reused?+

Existing wiring can sometimes be reused, but it must be inspected and tested before that decision is made. Cable type, condition, routing and the requirements of the selected equipment all matter. WeTech takes a retrofit-first approach and reuses suitable infrastructure where practical rather than promising that every old cable will work.

03What options are available for residents who do not use a smartphone?+

A well-planned strata upgrade should not force every resident into the same method. Depending on the chosen system, alternatives may include conventional telephone calling, indoor stations, fobs, cards, PINs or retained keys. WeTech plans the resident transition around the actual community and confirms available options before installation.

04Can doors, gates and elevators be managed through one access-control plan?+

They can often be coordinated through an integrated access-control plan when the selected equipment, elevator interface, gate controls and building conditions are compatible. Hawthorne is a real example combining 23 doors, two gates and two elevator controls. The final design still requires a property-specific assessment.
